Technical Words

Technical WordsUse Technical Words with caution and careful consideration. In addressing highly-educated people who thoroughly understand a special subject, you may indulge in technical terms freely. But the case is different when you need to address an audience who does not understand your technical jargon.

A sales manager may say to his salesforce: "Pm.'s will be awarded on the basis of daily totals of sales slips." They will understand his technical language.

To a general audience, the sales manager would rephrase his statement this way: "Premiums are awarded to our sales team based on daily sales, recorded by them on slips kept for this purpose."
