CONTINUAL, CONTINUOUS

Continual is used of frequently repeated acts, as, 'Continual dropping wears away a stone;' continuous, of uninterrupted action, as, 'the continuous flowing of a river.'

EXAMPLES:

1) Continual showers spoiled their baseball game.

2) The snow storm was continuous for two days.

3) Because of continual interruptions, it is difficult to maintain a continuous train of thought.
